Q. What is the Cardinal Foundation?

A. The Cardinal Foundation is a non-profit corporation formed to provide public support for public education through tax-deductible contributions.

Q. Is the Foundation part of the Board of Education?

A. No. The Cardinal Foundation is completely independent of, but works in close communication with, the Board of Education.

Q. What do we do?

A. The purpose of the Foundation is to improve the quality of education in Hamilton schools by generation, accepting, administering and allocating funds for special programs and projects.

Q. How will the funds be spent?

A. Proposals are submitted to the Foundation. After consultation with the school administration, the foundation will determine whether to allot funds to proposals and how much.

Q. Is my contribution tax deductible?

A. Yes. Your contribution is a charitable deduction for federal and state income, gift, and estate tax purposes.

Q. May I designate how my contribution is spent?

A. Yes. The Foundation accepts both restricted and unrestricted gifts.
