Hamilton High School competed in the ACES (Academic Challenge in Engineering and Science, formerly known as WYSE) in the spring, and their performances at the regional and sectional competitions qualified them for the state competition that was supposed to be held in Charleston at Eastern Illinois University in April. Of course, the competition was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and it was later re-organized so that students could complete the competition exams at home. Patrick Speegle placed 1st in the state in Computer Science and 2nd in physics. Ben Hollis placed 2nd in engineering graphics, and Jil Brevick placed 5th in chemistry. Congratulations!
