Let’s give a big shoutout to Samantha McClain, our amazing senior heading to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, to pursue her passion for Animal Science! πŸΎπŸŽ“ Sam is a dedicated student who loves diving into her studies, and we know she’ll excel in her new adventure.

Outside of academics, Sam enjoys reading, spending time with friends, playing with her dog, and her favorite color is teal. Her go-to comfort food is chicken alfredo, yum! 🍝

Sam has been inspired by Dr. Brigit Hollis, who has been a guiding light in her decision to become a Veterinarian. Sam says of Dr. Hollis, “Her kindness helped me off the fence of not knowing if I wanted to become a Veterinarian.”

Reflecting on her high school days, Sam fondly remembers sitting outside at lunch with her friends, playing fun games like crumble and bat baseball with crumpled up paper and water bottles. πŸ“βšΎ

As she moves forward, Sam will miss the supportive teachers and staff who have helped her along the way, especially Mrs. Cook, Miss Johnson, and Mr. Taylor.

To underclassmen, Sam advises, “When you do what you’re told, you make everyone’s life easier.” Wise words, Sam!

In three words, Sam describes herself as determined, independent, and easy-going. We’re so proud of you, Sam, and we can’t wait to see all the incredible things you’ll achieve at Iowa State! Go Cyclones!
