Let’s shine a spotlight on Grace Poland, our wonderful senior who will be attending John Wood Community College in Quincy, Illinois, to pursue her passion for elementary education! 🍎📚 Grace’s dedication to learning and her desire to become a teacher shine brightly as she embarks on this exciting journey.
During her college years, Grace plans to stay active and dedicated to her studies, balancing her love for running, golfing, and shopping with her academic pursuits. Her enthusiasm for becoming a teacher is evident through her involvement in our Elementary Tutor program for the past two years. 🏃♀️⛳🛍️
Grace’s favorite foods include Mac & Cheese, pickles, and “ALL potatoes”—a delightful mix of comfort and flavor! Her favorite color is yellow, reflecting her cheerful and sunny disposition. ☀️
Her favorite memories at HHS revolve around joining sports teams and forming close bonds with her teammates, as well as the special moments she shared with her sister while cheering at football games and running track together. Family bonds and shared experiences are truly priceless.
Grace’s biggest role models have been her parents, whose guidance and support have shaped her into the remarkable individual she is today. She’ll miss the nurturing environment provided by teachers like Mrs. Cook and Mr. Taylor, along with all the other teachers and staff who have made a difference in her high school journey.
Describing herself as sweet, honest, and persistent, Grace’s words of advice for underclassmen and incoming freshmen are empowering: “Be confident, do not wait to be the true you.” Wise words that inspire self-assurance and authenticity.
We’re incredibly proud of you, Grace, and we know you’ll make a fantastic teacher! Best of luck at John Wood Community College and beyond! 🌟📚 #SeniorSpotlight #Classof2024 #FutureEducator
