Let’s give a huge round of applause to Deanna Willard, our outstanding senior heading to Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, to pursue her dream of studying Elementary Education! 🍎📚 Deanna has already earned the prestigious Golden Apple Award Scholarship for Illinois, highlighting her dedication and passion for education.
Deanna is excited about the new experiences awaiting her at college, where she looks forward to making new friends and embracing her independence. Her favorite color is baby blue, and she enjoys cooking, making coffee, and shopping. And who can blame her for loving ice cream as her favorite food? 🍨
Her biggest role model is her sister, Rachel, who has always inspired Deanna to have faith in herself and believe that she can achieve anything she sets her mind to. Deanna will miss her teachers and seeing her friends every day at Hamilton High School, where her favorite memory is starting cheerleading freshman year and growing close with all the girls over the years. 🎀
Deanna’s advice for underclassmen and incoming freshmen is, “‘Sometimes you never know the value of something until it becomes a memory’ – Dr. Seuss.” She loves this quote because it reminds her to appreciate the present and enjoy high school because it goes by in a flash. Wise words, Deanna!
